2 more Podcasts to improve your Music Marketing
Following on from my blog post in April, where I discussed 4 podcasts that I was listening to for ideas and tips to market and promote my music, I've discovered two new podcasts that I believe every independent artist should add to that list.
The DIY Musician Podcast
Created by the online distribution website, CD Baby, this podcast speaks directly to all independent musicians out there, from bonafide independent musicians themselves: Kevin Breuner and Chris Robley. Each podcast is around the 1 hour mark and the subjects and content change week to week - Sometimes it is an interview with a leading person within the music industry, sometimes it is a talk from a convention and other times it is tips and discussions with the hosts. Whatever the theme or tip for that week, it is invariably solid, useful and practical material that really works. An absolute must listen to podcast.
Don't keep your day job
Cathy Heller is most famous (to me at least!) for being a songwriter that has carved out a lucrative and successful career within the sync licensing industry. She has written courses, blogs and done numerous videos and interviews helping people to succeed syncing their music. She now has a weekly podcast that goes outside of music alone and looks at people that have managed to give up their day job and set up a creative business of their own. It's a superb resource for budding creative entrepreneurs, to learn from people that have done it already.
I am always on the look out for new podcasts that help me with my career so I will continue to blog about new ones that I find so we can all share the wealth!
