Bye-Bye 2019

So, here we are again. A year has gone in a flash and what an odd year it's been! Some highs for sure, but some lows like I've never experienced in all my life. It all kind of built up to this year I think and I've come away with some big ol' learnings under my belt and I feel stronger and more confident as I swagger on into a new decade!

The start of the decade I was living in Australia, bodding around with not a care in the world and ten years later I'm back in London, bought a flat, released loads of records and done some serious learning along the way. Like I say it's been tough at times, but I feel kind of preparation for the next phase...

...although I am absolutely distraught and gobsmacked about the Tories getting in, I must say!

Early on in the year, I released two singles ('Down Under Girl' & 'Not Falling') before the brand new EP, 'Fizzy Beasts' and I am so happy with the reception that it got. I put a lot of work into it and I was very proud of it, so it meant a great deal to have it warmly received.

And then towards the end of the year, I released my seven-part YouTube web series, 'The Dawning of the Light' alongside the podcast 'A Diary of a Nobody'. Both of these were a real labour of love which kept me focused and creative as well as being able to release brand new music to the world!

And of course, I got my Spotify wrapped info which made me so happy! Seeing that my music was listened to all over the globe is one of the best parts of what I do.

So, it's time to give some thanks to those of you that have helped and supported me through the year.

Firstly, thanks to all the promoters and venues that had me and my guitar come and perform for you. Some gigs are better than others for a myriad of reasons, but I am always grateful to those that book me and let me perform my tunes.

Thanks to all the radio stations that played me this year across the globe! There were so many and I am really grateful for that, as I am hugely indebted to my awesome Radio promoter Emma Scott...I bloody love you!

To all the music press, blogs, and magazines that featured me and my music. I am always very appreciative and grateful to you all.

And of course thank you to every single one of you who have supported me in one way or another, whether that be coming to a show, streaming my tracks, following and interacting with me on my socials it all means the world to me and it is because of you lot that I can continue to do this. So thank you.

So, let's say Bye-Bye 2019 and bye-bye to the decade and welcome in a fantastic year and new decade ahead!

Things get tough from time to time, but I've realised that with a bit of self-care, some solid friends and family around you and a willingness to keep going on, you can get through the roughest of storms. To quote my song (like a bit of a twat!) 'Worry Blues':

Love can beat ya, life will teach ya, That sometimes this ride can be rough. So when it hits ya, look in the mirror, Remember you're always enough.

I love you all and I wish each and every one of you all the luck, love and support in the world for 2020. Let's try and make this a good one!

See you on the other side!
